Season 3 Episode 1 Cébazat
The third season of the Trina adventures has kicked off! This time, the first episode will take place in France, from the 20th to the 28th of July. We have voluntarily made many changes in the team in order to allow as many musicians as possible to experience this superb project, but the fundamentals remain the same: the meeting and mixing of different cultures, with music as soundtrack (actually 6 hours of music per day!)
Please note another big change: A new season, a new cast but also a new script with the addition of a string ensemble! The French Trinasians, old and new, are hard at work to fine-tune the organization of this episode in order to offer the best possible stay to their German and Hungarian friends.
Follow them daily on this site, on Facebook and on Twitter. Do not miss the exceptional concert performed by these European musicians on Friday 26th July at 8pm in the Sémaphore concert hall, either in person if you are near Cébazat (63), or broadcast live on this site.

Welcome Trinasians at La Bourboule
We left Cébazat in the early afternoon with all the French Trinidadians towards La Bourboule. Once installed at the gîte des fées we prepared the rehearsal rooms at the Casino de La Bourboule, a magnificent setting! Then, the arrival of the Hungarians and Germans, so much awaited, was acclaimed by loud applause before we all headed to the self-service restaurant where an excellent meal was waiting for us. Finally, our evening ended with a game that was simple at first sight but more difficult than it seemed, which consisted of raising a tower made of marshmallow and spaghetti from the ground.
First Rehearsals and Culinary Delights
Today, after a rude awakening, we discovered the different instrument teachers but also our work rooms!During our first rehearsals by desk, we were able to put together our different sounds and start to rework some passages of the pieces we had previously deciphered at home of course… *cough*And then came one of the favourite moments of the young Trinidadians, namely eating! This day it was excellent sausages and lentils. Thanks to the gîte for this delicious meal. Also, the various trips to and from the Casino were pretty rough!
Collaborative Rehearsals and Hungarian Evening
During the whole day, the string orchestra and the wind orchestra worked in sections and then all the musicians got together to play TUTTIS. At about 6 p.m. the two orchestras worked together on the piece “Music” by “John Miles”. Today’s Trinidadian evening was the Hungarian evening. Our Hungarian Trinidadians organised a game with several teams of 10 people. The theme of the game was tales and each mini-game represented a different tale. The evening ended with a surprise concert organised by our Hungarian strings.
Tuesday Rehearsals and German Evening
Hello everyone! We started this Tuesday with sectional rehearsals followed by brass, string and woodwind rehearsals. This allowed us to improve our performance of the pieces and the difficult passages of the different families of instruments and to be even more efficient for the big concert that awaits us.
We then went back up to La Roche des Fées for a superb roast chicken/potato lunch with blue cheese sauce and fruit for dessert.
Afterwards, we went back down to the casino to continue the rehearsals. We ended the day, as usual, with a tutti.
For the evening meal, stuffed cabbage, and then we were invited to the German games and their specialties that I will test right away.
Final Rehearsals and Farewell Concert in La Bourboule
Today was the last day of rehearsal in La Bourboule for the Trinasiens. Very good day in perspective with tutti, aligot and størlyd brass.
However, there were some mishaps with rain which forced us to change the place of the orchestra to enter the casino. So after the little concert of our friends the strings, we had to play in front of the public. And what an ovation we got!
The departure might be difficult for each Trinasien with less sleep than our instrumental practice hours! A very good stay ending on a good evening, contrary to the “barouf” that some people denounce.
Breakdown, Picnic, and Water Games
After a long evening on Wednesday, Thursday was more difficult. Fortunately, we took the cable car up to the Puy du Sancy this morning, which saved us a few hours of hiking. We made up for it after the picnic by the lake of Bort-Les-Orgues with a hike in the sweltering heat.
This was followed by two hours of water games, with pedal boats and inflatable modules. We returned by bus to Cébazat, to enjoy a barbecue with Trina members, host families and official delegations. See you tomorrow for new adventures!
Final Rehearsals and Showtime
Today is the day of the concert! A few final rehearsals this morning and afternoon to finalise these four days of musical work. It’s now time to get ready for the concert: nap for some, make-up session for others (or both ^_^). That’s it, it’s time to go on stage, everyone is smiling and laughing, it’s going to be another great concert! Enjoy!
