Season 1 Episode 2 Cébazat
From 8 April to 15 April 2012, for the second edition of the Trina Orchestra, 60 young people from Cébazat (F), Gerstetten (D) and Pilisvörösvar (H) will meet again, one year after their exceptional meeting.
Through this original project, these young musicians have not only forged friendly links, but also discovered and opened up to other European cultures.Episode II keeps the same formula: in one week they will work on a new concert programme (6 hours of music per day!), discover the region and of course extend their cultural, linguistic and culinary exchanges!

As newcomers to the Trina Orchestra, here are our first impressions: a festive, relaxed, almost family atmosphere because music brings us together and unites us, the musicians are very welcoming and open; the pieces proposed are very varied and we like them. What can we say about Tauves? An appreciable natural setting, calm, ideal to spend a good week full of music and memories.
My first day at the Trina Orchestra was quite emotional, because after the short wait for the foreign musicians, the exchange between cultures became apparent quite quickly. As most of the participants belong to the same age group, the feeling quickly spread. The only small drawback was that we did not play any music on the first evening. Tonight, on the second day of the course, I think that this European music week will be one of the most exciting of my life.
2nd day ! We got wet, it’s a bit our fault, because we didn’t play very well ! A few more days to work, the pieces will be ready, there is no need to worry! Other journalists arrived to ask us questions, as well as members of the municipality to listen to us. They all left satisfied. After the truffade, the first speciality, today it was the aligot that we enjoyed. Yesterday the French organised a good evening, we all had a good time! Tonight it’s the Germans who will make us dream!
A day that started under rainy skies, the percussion section was interrupted by an unexpected feline visit in the early morning. Nevertheless, this visit did not disturb our percussionist friends who were able to work in a joyful and good mood. The sun made a brief appearance in the middle of the afternoon to finally give way to the watery sky of the beginning of the day. The evening ended with Hungarian festivities following those of the French and then the Germans.
Last night’s Hungarian evening, animated by various games, led us to taste one of their typical dishes, Paprikàskrumpli. Today was the last day of rehearsals in Tauves. The pieces are starting to take shape, and the programme is almost complete. David Champclos, who composed a piece especially for the Trina, came to visit us to check that we had worked well. Unfortunately, after this tiring day, we still have to tidy up all the equipment and the rooms. We are looking forward to the last evening at the chati-chato d’Auvergne, before showing our guests a little more of our region.
After an early morning aubade in the sun, the musicians set off for Lake Pavin where the sun was no longer shining. But the splendour and the mysterious side of this lake awakened the spirits. We then headed for Besse-en-Chandesse where everyone was able to walk around as they wished. Departure for Super-Besse where a truffle was waiting for us. After a nap in the bus, we discovered the Michelin Adventure, then returned to Cébazat for the official start of the 20th anniversary of the twinning.
After spending their first evening with their families, the musicians met on Saturday morning at the Sémaphore for their last day of rehearsal. The programme included 2h30 of tutti followed by a 2h dress rehearsal after the lunch break. The concert took place as planned at 7pm, and this year again, the TriNa was able to charm its audience. Indeed, the evening was a great success, both with the audience at the semaphore and with the “virtual audience” who were able to watch the concert live via the website. After their performance, the musicians and the members of the twinning could meet around a copious meal. The musicians then animated the evening with a wild jam session.
After an evening that lasted until 5.30 am for some, the whole Trina met again this Sunday morning for the official ceremony of the 20th anniversary of the twinning, which took place at the end of the morning. The ceremony included several speeches by the mayors and presidents of the twinning committees, and was punctuated by the interpretation of the French, German and European anthems by the Trina Orchestra. The features were drawn, the pressure was released after the success of the previous day’s concert, and fatigue finally caught up with most of the musicians. Indeed, after the ceremony and the copious meal that followed, the orchestra watched the video of the concert filmed the day before by our friends Nicolas and Dominique in the Semaph’ hall. The bad weather did not allow the musicians to diversify their activities, and it is finally after a laborious but fabulous group photo session that the orchestra met for a last meal. It was a much quieter evening than the others, where we could feel the musicians’ fatigue and the fear of the next day’s farewell. Monday morning, 8am. In a cold that could turn you into a seal’s ball, the musicians meet one last time. Handshakes and hugs, accompanied by many “Hope to see you next year! And next to them, Josselin, who has fallen asleep against the window of his car door. After this second year, which has brought the musicians even closer together, we can clearly feel that they are more than eager to meet again in Hungary, all together, for a third week.
