Season 3 Episode 2 Gerstetten
The adventure begins
Between those who got up at 3.30 a.m. and those who didn’t sleep all night for the French, while the Germans left at 9.30 a.m., it was with joy and good humor that the bus set off on its long journey. Fortunately, the good humor of the Trinidadians made us forget the length of the bus journey. Between card games and naps, the convoy draws ever closer to its final destination. On arrival, a guard of honor greets the French and Hungarian teams. After a warm reunion, all the musicians gather for dinner. This is followed by a presentation of the team members (exceptional) and the setting (also exceptional), and above all the famous cellar where all the Trinasian parties will take place! Suffice to say, after a two-year break, this episode of Trina promises to be unforgettable…
A Harmonious Meeting
After a good night’s sleep, the Trinidadians had a good breakfast. Everyone was tired but excited to be playing together again after two years. First, in the morning, the various musicians met their teachers and rehearsed for the big concert. In the late afternoon, it was finally time to rehearse by instrument section: woodwinds, brass and strings. The rest of the week will bring plenty of work and practice, but the first day has already been a great success. The day ended with the Hungarian evening, with several games such as a fast pronunciation competition in Hungarian with everyone shouting around you and a choreography battle to Hungarian music. This second episode of Trina exceeded most Trinidadian expectations, which bodes well for the future!
The Trinity Tutti
The day began with breakfast and a sectional rehearsal. After a short coffee break, the first joint rehearsal, called Tuttis de la Trinité, took place in the Weikersheim concert hall. The wind band was joined by the string orchestra for the final rehearsal of the day. The atmosphere at the joint rehearsal was fantastic and, despite the summer heat, the climate of the new concert hall contributed greatly to the success of the rehearsal. There’s still a lot of work to be done, but we’re confident that Friday’s concert will be a wonderful experience. The day ended with games, traditional food and a concert by the Størlyd Brass band.
Polka and practice
Today is the fourth day of this Trina, which began as usual with breakfast and, for some of us, some difficulty waking up. The day begins with the last sectional rehearsal, as our stay in Weikersheim soon comes to an end. In the afternoon, it’s Tutti rehearsals for all the wind band and string players, with finally, at the end of the afternoon, a Tutti rehearsal for the wind band and strings. Tonight, it’s the German party with lots of mini-games and, of course, the Polka.
Last rehearsal and Casino evening
We’re already on day five, and how time flies… It’s the last day of the adventure for the Trinasiens in Weikersheim. It’s going to be a great last day. Tutti all day for everyone, strings and orchestra. This Tutti day is very important to finalize the setting up of all the pieces. After this Tutti day, it’s time for the casino evening organized by the Germans, with smart dress compulsory to enter. In the basement, a casino is set up with poker, blackjack, 4-power duels and more.
Day Off #1
Today is Trina’s sixth day, a well-deserved and long-awaited day for some, as it’s a day of rest. On the agenda: rest and swimming. Unfortunately, this morning marks the departure from Weikersheim… and the bus takes us to the Brombachsee lake. The afternoon is free around the lake: some swim, others play board games and so on. After a relaxing afternoon, we headed for Gerstetten to meet our host families. We’ve arrived in Gerstetten for tomorrow’s concert, which you won’t want to miss. See you tomorrow at 8pm on Trina’s YouTube channel to watch the concert or on the website.
